John Dobak M.D.

John Dobak, M.D., has served as the President, CEO and Board Member of DermTech, Inc. since 2012. DermTech is a leader in precision dermatology enabled by a non-invasive skin genomics platform. DermTech’s first product, the Pigmented Lesion Assay (“PLA”), is a breakthrough solution for a decades-old unmet medical need: enhanced early melanoma detection. Dr. Dobak has been involved in the formation of several entrepreneurial companies in San Diego over the last 20 years, including Pantherics, 10xBio, INNERCOOL Therapies and CryoGen/CryoCor. These companies have developed and/or marketed both drugs and therapeutic devices. Dr. Dobak and these companies are the recipients of several awards for entrepreneurship and innovation, including San Diego Business Journal CEO of the Year, UCSD Connect’s Most Innovative New Product and MIT’s TR 100. Dr. Dobak is a member of the San Diego YPO chapter. Dr. Dobak received a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a medical doctorate from UCSD.

Jay Hagan

Mr. Hagan joined Regulus in January 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, Principal Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer and was appointed to President and Chief Executive Officer in May 2017. Mr. Hagan’s career includes roles as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Officer of Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc., Managing Director of Amgen Ventures and head of corporate development for Amgen Inc. Mr. Hagan has led numerous strategic and financing transactions including the acquisitions of Immunex and Tularik and the spinout of Novantrone and Relyspa, as well as many other business development efforts totaling over $15 billion in value. Before joining Amgen, Mr. Hagan spent five years in the bioengineering labs at Genzyme and Advanced Tissue Sciences. He received an M.B.A. from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego.
